KÅNKEN is a duet and choreography in which dance-artists Marjan Raar and Linda Björkqvist explore the content of time, space and generations.

In KÅNKEN the dancers are investigating and challenging the boarders and boundaries of the past and future in both physical and imaginative ways.

The space invites, but also forces them into one place , into one piece and into one moment of sharing.

The power of art, the trust, the struggle and the common need to move forward makes KÅNKEN what it is right now.

Time is their common friend and enemy, time flies, time never stands still, time runs away, the future and past are melting into the big now.

Every moment, every move, they dive deeper into life and  time.

Dragging into the future, pulling away from the past, they struggle and find the flow that directs them into the moment, into that what matters right now.

The strength of 2 generations and their attempt to find common ground in KÅNKEN, has been a journey through movement , endurance and skill. The significant age difference of 30 years between both dancers gives this piece an extra flavor.

With this project SweetDreams Kollektiv presents an earthy, at times poignant, raw but also sensitive duet about the power of people and generations, the sense of time and the reality of life.

RAW- a kind of fairytale

RAW- a kind of fairytale

In this solo performance I created a story, which is the frame for this performance,

I choose the fairytale version of story telling, as fairytales have the ability to trigger our fantasy.

This fairytale has been stimulating my body and mind to create visual images and has allowed me to connect with things beyond understanding.

This fairytale is a fantasy-full story based on reality and strange things happening, which together, are the base and inspiration for this piece.

The dance is invading and surrounding the spoken words.

A fairytale about starting , about handicrafts , strange disappearances, about death and extermination while counting the stars. All ending in happiness..

KÅNKEN, a physically challenging choreography by SweetDreams Kollektiv, in which 2 dancers are taking the challenge of defying time and age. The age difference of 30 years between the dancers makes the challenge complete.

This piece is a physical dance and movement performance, in which the boundaries of the past and future are shaken up, age is thrown away and time disappears like sand, while the moment remains.

What we say about KÅNKEN:

"With KÅNKEN, we want to create an earthy, poignant, raw but sensitive, performance about the power of the past, the challenge of the future and the reality of the present.

“Time only exists because otherwise everything would happen simultaneously”.

A dance piece with strong physical images in which we also, just because we like it, carry a piece of Finland with us, with its extreme climate and wild nature "

City Spheres Turku in Amsterdam

Saturday 16.9 I will dance a short solo during the opening of the exhibition from Baukje Spaltro's painting project City Spheres.

I will dance a short solo which is based on my choreography Spheres , which we performed last October in Barker Theatre. Baukje participated that performance and painted her last painting Turku XL during 4 nights while the dancers danced the choreography.

On Saturday we collaborate again in gallerie BMB in Amsterdam.

The opening is between 17-19  and I will perform somewhere half way.
